Take time to consider personal elements to include
Come away with one document that you can either put straight in your hospital bag or continue amending throughout your pregnancy
Why sign up?
NHS birth plan templates are incomplete and don’t have the scope for the kind of detail you really want for an informed birth
Birth plans are essential for calm decision making during labour. It isn’t a wish list, it’s a way to consider all eventualities.
It’s a great way to make sure you and your birth partner are on the same page. Attend together, or go through your plan once it’s made.
What to bring?
All materials are provided, and there will be tea, coffee and delicious mocktails as well as snacks.
Birth partners are very welcome at no extra cost.
If you are particularly keen then maybe a notebook to take some notes for later, but you’ll be given a blank copy of my worksheet to take home with you to carry on planning.
“Daria walked me through everything that should go in to a birth plan- from noting down key points from my first birth to explaining the benefits of delayed cord clamping and everything in between.
Discussing my birth plan made the whole thing feel more exciting and when my waters broke I felt totally in control and confident, knowing that I could give myself over to the experience and trust that the midwives knew from my birth plan how to best support me.”
